Dr Wilkinson has given many after dinner speeches during his professional life. These have included speaking at rotary clubs, social clubs and societies, Medical schools and at corporate events such as for Mars, Unilever, and Saga. He is extremely funny and amusing and discusses what it is like to go plant hunting in the Joshua Tree desert, where he got lost and nearly died. He talks of his time as an academic reciting truly hilarious stories about university students and their amazing creative talents for finding reasons why a piece of coursework is late. He talks of his time spent living in Los Angeles and working with the Nobel Prize Winner George Olah, along with 50 researchers from all over the World and of his time in the corporate world and of the eccentric business leaders and CEO’s that he has worked with. He has a totally unique “take” on the world of complementary medicine and talks with authority and amusement on ecowariors, witches, shamen and on the differences between conventional and alternative medicine. Some how he manages to tackle these topics with great humour while at the same time keeping respect for practitioners of holistic medicine.
