Herbal Sciences offers a number of industry training seminars to individuals (entrepreneurs, scientists, business people, marketing staff, etc) as well as "on site" to companies anywhere in the World.

These seminars and courses can be organised to fit into your schedule and are designed as one day or half day seminars and workshops, that you book on the day your require them! (subject to availability).

They can be conducted at our office and laboratories on our 300 acre farm, which is based near Stansted Airport, Essex, UK, or at your offices. Our farm is only 20 minutes from the airport and only 1 hour from London, 30 minutes from Cambridge.

We can also offer overnight accommodation for delegates if you so wish. Luxury accommodation is in our medieval manor house and includes use of the Jacuzzi, swiming pool, open fireplaces, an extensive natural products library together with breakfast, lunch and dinner and wifi internet access. Fees start at £135 per person depending on the size of the room and whether en suite facilities are required.

The evening meal includes wine and socialising with Dr Wilkinson, his colleagues and other guests that are staying to ensure a pleasant and enjoyable evening.

We can also visit companies and offer the following seminars "on site". We can also offer some of these courses over the internet with use of e mail, online drawing boards and internet telephony such as Skype.

Dr Wilkinson has over ten years teaching experience as an academic at Middlesex University where he taught phytochemistry, pharmacognosy, botanical identification, microscopy, analytical methods, quality control, pharmacy and herbal pharmacology. He has also been consulting in the natural products industry for the past 15 years on an international basis including setting up international research collaborations, filing patents, business PR and international media experience. He is also on the "international lecturing circuit", giving presentations at various trade shows and conferences.

The costs are for individuals to participate although discounts are available for two or more people from the same company that have booked into the same course at the same time. Participation is focused on one on one training or in very small groups and reflects the pricing for individual attention at these workshops. General phytochemistry includes all the major classes of compounds such as terpenoids, alkaloids, flavanoids, sterols, etc £750 per person ½ day seminar.

Undertaking pharmacological activity testing of natural products – This includes how to set up collaborations, choosing appropriate biological assays, an overview of the main therapeutic areas and understanding the data produced. £1000 1 day course.

 

Pharmacy and extraction technologies – This seminar covers the modern day extraction methodologies used in the natural products industry and also the preparation of tinctures, creams and associated formulations and patent protection. ½ day seminar £750.

 

What consumers want – This seminar is to help natural product companies understand what the consumer is looking for when they purchase natural products such as nutraceuticals, natural cosmetics, supplements and herbal remedies. What are the drivers , what do they care about, what are the new up and coming trends in this area? ½ day seminar £750.

 

How to get your product or invention licensed – This seminar covers such aspects as due diligence, how to approach companies, intellectual property protection and industry standards for royalty agreements. Includes examples of industry deasl and income generated. £750 ½ day seminar.

 

Regulatory affairs 1 – Novel Foods Approval – This seminar covers what is involved, what data is needed, how to write the application and the costs and timelines to get approval – ½ day seminar £1000.

 

Regulatory affairs 2 – New Dietary Ingredient notifications– This seminar covers what is involved, what data is needed, how to write the application and the costs and timelines to get approval – ½ day seminar £1000.
